The Queens Tip

November 4th...not just time to vote (for Obama!), but to cop the new Q-Tip album. I have received my advance press copy and it's the Q-Tip you've been waiting for since the Midnight Marauders! It's innovative, creative, bass heavy, and vibey. The lyrics are thought provoking and insightful...the content is mature. I don't know the exact production credentials yet, but I know producers include J Dilla, Mark Ronson, and Q-Tip.

It seems a best of both worlds between the eclectic-sing-songy-rockish influences heard on the unreleased Kamaal the Abstract and the 90s era Tribe. There's a good amount of live instrumentation heard in the production which adds to a very layered sound. Guests include D'Angelo, Norah Jones, and Raphael Saadiq.
